Writing: Someone came to me

asking for advice on an essay. Through her struggles, I discovered a little bit about writing. I realized, at least in my point of view, that there is no such thing as a cliched essay. No essay is cliche as long as it’s honest. The situation you’re writing about may be, but the way in which your form your ideas of it, isn’t. It’s all in the description. Because I believe all human beings experience things differently from one another, and that’s what makes writing unique.

I also realized  there is no such thing as writer’s block. It’s the mind simply refusing to write about something because it’s over thinking it. When you write, you have to let it all go and just get it out there, even if it’s not your best work. It’s the only way you’ll come up with an end product. And I believe when you go through this very process, no matter what topic it was you wrote about, big or small, it was important to you. Or else it wouldn’t have been on your mind. When you start writing, you’ll never know how it will end up, but only through writing without thinking, will you reach that. I believe it is a form of self-discovery, through words and sentences. And it’s one of the most relaxing self-discoveries that I’m thankful to have grown to love.
